Summary: Due to injuries to members of reigning champ North Rockland, at least four teams could make a case for being the winner in S1-A. The Red Raiders have best speed rating, but a giant chunk of it comes from the top runner in the nation, Katelyn Tuohy, and better balance for Ursuline, Arlington, and Carmel could tip the decision for one of them. The virtual score based on speed ratings has North Rockland at 65, Ursuline at 73, Arlington at 81, and Carmel at approximately 84. There are many top runners in the race, but Tuohy will repeat last year's win.

Summary:  The usual late-season rhubarb between John Jay and Pearl River is breaking out again, as each team has been boosting its speed ratings in October and both won their county championship The Indians have won the last two S1-B titles, but Pearl River has more depth than it had during the last two showdowns. Tappan Zee is also hanging close behind, so this will be a great match. Last year's winner and this year's Northern Counties champ Caroline Timm is rounding into shape for another shot at the crown, but Mary Borkoski was 2nd only to Katelyn Tuohy at Rockland and Pippa Nuttall won at Westchester.
