Plattsburgh Pre-States Meet Preview Blowout!

Girls 1 - 10:10am

Individuals

Hannah Ielfield (South Lewis) - 129, Sydney Nowicki (Lockport) - 127, Faithe Ketchum (Corning) - 121, Emily Brown (Fredonia) - 118, Lexi Bernard (South Lewis) - 117, Kayla Schmidt (Williamsville South) - 110

Breakdown: A nice mix of talent here should bring an exciting race.  Section 6 is making the trek over, bringing Section 3 & 4 along for the ride.  South Lewis has the power duo up front, and after a strong showing at VVS, look to lead the field.  Nowicki is a former NXN-Finalist, so she is no stranger to the competition, and could pop a big race too.  The Corning girls look to have the scoring advantage, but South Lewis could make it close.

Girls 2 - 11:20am

Individuals

Brooke Rauber (Tully) - 147, Lizzie Lucason (Camden) - 133, Faith DeMars (Ballston Spa) - 130, Rachael Woodruff (Saranac) - 126, Kate Sherman (Mohonasen) - 124, Olivia Lucia (Pittsford-Mendon) - 105

Breakdown: Rauber is the leader in the field here, putting in her paces before McQuaid next week, where we might get the highest ranked Individual Battle of the Season across the whole country.  It's a good course to open up the legs, and she'll have a tight battle behind her.  DeMars and Lucason are evenly matched, and Woodruff is the highest ranked athlete in the North Country.  One week after heading to VCP, the State is returning the favor coming up to her neck of the woods.  The team race looks wide open at this point.

Girls 3 - 12:30pm

Individuals

Jalyssa Smith (Arlington) - 112, Delaney Brewer (VVS) - 111, Madison Luke (Clinton) - 110, Arianna Whittaker (Canton) - 101

Breakdown: With no clear front-runner, this race is the most wide open.  Brewer managed to break up Manlius' Top 5 at VVS, so she knows how to run her race.  Madison Luke took a wrong turn on that course, so there is redemption on her mind.  And Jalyssa Smith was a race winner at Somers Big Red.  Arlington is the favorite in the team competition.
