Bronxville’s Mary Cain finished second in the 1,500 meters at the USA Junior Championships Sunday in Eugene, Ore., then found out that she is too young to compete at the Pan Am Games next month and also too young to compete at the World Youth Championships this summer, effecting ending the most proflic freshman campaign of any runner to put on spikes in New York State.

St. Benedict’s superstar sophomore Edward Cheserek broke a meet record while claiming his first national title in the 5,000 in 14:25.74.
