Breakdown: We have ourselves a race. Some of the best from the Northeast will change the back-hills of Van Cortlandt Park, with plenty more than mere bragging rights on the line. It takes roughly a 200 Speed Rating break the coveted 12-min mark on the storied course, but Devan Kipyego has indicated that's the goal. It won't be a solo effort, as the team talent will be right in chase, looking to capture the 5-Man Average, and time anywhere helps. CBA is led by Nicholas Sullivan, who has had a few week to improve since their last outing at Bowdoin. VCP is a fickle beast, as the true distance runners will find it over before the race begins, but the mid-distance sprinters will linger in that last 800m finishing stretch. Kipyego is a 4-flat miler, the fastest PR for that distance to attempt this feat. Only two boys have ever broken 12-minutes, Edward Cheserek having done it twice, and we could see another added to the list.
