NXN-NY Girls Individuals
Breakdown: This might be the deepest region in the country for Individuals, and even without our full contingent, as some will be at Foot Locker. At the top is two-time defending National Champion Katelyn Tuohy, who is rounding into shape at precisely the right time. She ran her fastest time of the season at Feds, and it doesn't look like she'll slow down. Brooke Rauber did not race at Feds, to save her legs for this race, as did Jenna Schulz, despite her team competing. These three all have the potential to finish Top 10 once out at NXN, based on recent performances.
The next group of runners, see's three athletes vying for two spots. Sarah Connelly won the Class B State Championship at Plattsburgh, while Lizzie Lucason won the Class C State Title. Both did so, with little company around them. In a more competitive field, they have room to grow. Faith DeMars had been running well during the Sectional Season, but two weather swings at States and Feds created anomaly races. To be in consideration for that 5th spot, she'll need a return to form.
Three obvious exclusions from this list are FM's Claire Walters & Phoebe White, and Saratoga's Ella Kurto. These athletes are expected to be battling it out for team points, and their teams have a gap on the field. If either of the teams falter, these individuals will be among the potential 5 slots.
