State of the Action: If we had to pick which throws' event was more hotly contested, the Shot would have to be the answer by default. Michael Pinckney (HS for Construction) is the clear State Leader, putting out a 61-8.5 in late December, but he hasn't cleared 60-ft since. He's been busy in other exploits in the Weight Throw, but it does leave an opening for the field. Enter Jack Foster (Saratoga), who has been steadily improving with his 56-1.5 personal best. It may not be enough to take home the Federation Title, but it is two feet ahead of the next best athlete, making clear a path for the Public State Title. | |||||
