Breakdown: Consider this Burnt Hills first real test.  They once again moved up to the Large Schools race here, and will be met by Dana Hills of California.  Like Saugus Girls coming in 2010, the CA team shouldn't be underestimated.  Burnt Hills has the strongest Top 3 in the Country right now, but Dana Hills has a tighter compression.  The bigger the field, the more potential for danger.  Yet, there is a reason Burnt Hills is US #5, and if they have intentions on winning the NY Regional, Dana Hills should be the least of their worries.  Behind them is a three-way battle among ranked teams, going 3-4-5 in the State Ranks right now, behind #2 Burnt Hills.  This should settle any conversations of their order.  On paper, Corning has the most potential for growth, but the other two teams are just looking for the opportunity.

Individually, Burnt Hills will be taking on another Section 2 standout in Shea Weilbaker.  Weilbaker has the clear advantage on the track, winning State Titles in the 3200m in both Winter and Spring here in NY, but XC has proven to be a much closer affair.  Simon Fuller of CA is the only other athlete 180, but would need a big jump in unfamiliar territory to catch Berg and Brennan.  The pair crossed the line in tandemn at Baldwinsville, so either they were running a group effort, or you'll have two guys breaking in high on the McQuaid All-Time lists.
