State of the Action: Like on the boys side, for the first time in awhile, the Public Schools are leading the way in the shortest sprint. Two athletes are under 7.20, and it's NY #2 Melody Harloff (Victor) at 7.17 who has chosen to just focus on the one event. State Leader Zionna Perez-Tucker (Mohonasen) will be up in the 300m as well, but will be done with the trials and finals of the 55m by the time that rolls around. Her lead at 7.14 isn't enough to call her the clear favorite, but it does set up a close race that could be a blanket finish.
