State of the Action: The parity of the field makes for an interesting race ahead. There is no athlete in the field that has dipped under 8-seconds, typically a guarantee of a State Title. What we do have is a field huddling around 8.20, all looking for that one breakthrough race to capture their own State Title. Chief among them is Kate Del Gandio (Mt. Sinai), who has been the State Leader for much of the Season, now at 8.22. She's proven that mark was no fluke, as she ran 8.23 at the Qualifier, backing up her seed. Antoinette Galloway (Cardozo) is the next best seed at 8.27, with Jaice Dorsey (Susan Wagner) right there at 8.28. The margins are close enough that it's a toss-up heading into the race, but how the prelims play out will be the best indicator of the final. | |||||
