State of the Action: Two athletes from the same school have ruled the rankings all season, and they will be leaving their Section for the first time in their High School career. Michael Parks (ESM) and Rocky El (ESM) are the only athletes under 7.60 this year, with Parks leading the state at 7.47. It's a healthy gap over the State, but as we saw at the 2020 State Meet, the hurdles can be a volatile event. You have to clear all the barriers cleanly before you can claim victory. Ejike Onuogu (Commack) is the next closest competitor, with his 7.64 clocking at State Quals. | |||||||||||
