Breakdown: This race is just silly with talent as it includes five of NY's top 15 teams, all three team winners of McQuaid's seeded races and two teams that are top ranked in their Class and won titles at States last year. Eight of the teams are ranked in the top 10 in their Class, two are ranked in the top 3 in New York, and two are ranked in the top 5 of Vermont. Everybody satisfied that they are getting their money's worth for finish line seats on Saturday?

Burnt Hills and Tyler Berg were the champs last year, and the Spartans will be favored again this year sporting the McQuaid AA title in their expected battle with McQuaid AAA winner Guilderland. Xavier could also be taking a big shot here after a subdued performance at McQuaid two weeks ago. Shaker's TR rating does not include top guy TJ Randall who has been out the last two meets, so the Bison might exceed expectations. Class C power Saranac Lake won the McQuaid A race and is now ready to play the giant--killer in the D3 race. Saratoga, Niskayuna, Monroe-Woodbury, McQuaid, and Washingtonville are all top 30 Class A teams that will be battling with VT's #2 team Essex and Class B's 8th ranked Pittsford Sutherland to break in for a top 10 place in a brutally tough race.

Essex's Henry Farrington was 3rd behind BH's Tyler Berg and Aidan Gillooley last year, and he is the top returner and decided favorite in this year's race. The Spartans' Ryan Allison, Niskayuna's Tom Ragone, and Xavier's Oliver Branham-Upton should all be at the front of the chase pack behind Farrington.
