NYT&F Battle of the Years - Top 15 Showdown 2008-2015

. . . . . . Group 7: Relays

The relay motto has always been, "Speak very very loudly, and carry a small stick"

The 2010 relays dominated with a crew that should be remembered for at 1st (Newburgh 4x100) and two 2nds (Sheepshead Bay 4x400, Warwick 4x800) at Nationals. They were the best. The 2012 and 2015 teams were a ways behind and ended up here tied for 2nd going into the final group. The 2014 crew remains a few seconds off the pace in 4th.

The rumors were true, as the 2010 guys set their legendary relay squads against the rest of teams and left them in the dust. Three 1sts put the 2010 guys in the lead going into the final group. The 2012 squad put together 13 points to tie 2015 for 2nd at 4 points behind. 2014 also chocked up 12 points to stay in the hunt. 2015 scored only 12 points in the relays to fall back t0 a 2nd place tie..

The girls battle has come down to a two-way fight between the hugely successful 2010 squad and the 2015 team. The 2010 girls picked up two 1sts with dominating showings in the 4x400 and the 4x800 to extend their lead a little bit. But the 2015 team hung tough with a 1st in the 4x100 and a 2nd in the 4x400 to keep the pressure on going into the last group. 2010 is 9 points up and safely in the lead, but crazy things can happen in T&F..

With two events to go, the 2010 team holds a 13 point lead over the 2015 group, which appears pretty solid. The closest race is between the 2012-2009-2011 squads for 4th place, with a total of 8 points separating them. But still, some screwy things can happen when you get down to the distance events.
