NYT&F Battle of the Years - Top 15 Showdown 2008-2015

. . . . . . Group 5: Vertical Jumps and Vaults

How high can they go to give their teams the boost to the next level?

No one can really match the high jumpers and pole vaulters for odd types of athletes using every kind of psyche strategy to get them to the next level. With all the competitions heating up, the vertically unchallenged stars will decide who's in position for the final stretch runs.

The 2010 guys leaped toward the top with a 1st in the HJ and a 2nd in the pole vault, which drew them within 3 points of the lead. The 2014 guys clung to the top spot by capturing the pole vault, but an anemic 7th the in the HJ left them looking in the rear view mirror. 2012 put up a solid 2nd and 3rd to stay close at 6 points off the lead. The 2015 guys plunged back to 4th with a last in the HJ and 5th in the PV, and they now need a big comeback.

The 2009 and 2010 squads vaulted to the top of the scoreboard with strong showings in the verticals, as the '9ers took a 2nd in the HJ and 3rd in the PV to keep their 3 point lead. Moving into 2nd though was a resurgent 2010 squad that captured the LJ and got 2nd in the PV. The 2015 crew could only manage a 6th and 4th to fall way back to 3rd.

The 2010 team started to take control in the fifth group as it moved into a 10 point lead over the 2014 squad, with this year's team 4 more points back.
