The COVID shutdown period has had a massive ripple effect across the landscape of New York Track & Field. Competition availability, facility usage, and varying restrictions have allowed for some athletes to improve in obscurity, only to pop up big now that some form of competition has resumed. We are sure there are more athletes out there, who still have not seen big invitationals to showcase their speed, but we wanted to identify eight athletes who would and should be getting the headlines of our tradition stars. These are the new names to know, that have popped up since we've last had regular competition.
Note: Neil Howard was originally on this list, but once you set a State Record like he did earlier this week, it's hard to not know that talent that's there.
