Eight New Names To Know From Spring Track 2021

Girls #1 - Hannah Boyle (Cicero-North Syracuse)

Grade: Sophomore

Highlight Performance: 2:10.54 in debut 800m for NY #1

Pre-COVID - Boyle has been running for CNS since 8th grade, and had put up decent performances early. On a flat track, she was hovering in the 43sec range for the 300m, and was able to stretch up to the 600m. There, she began to find her niche, clocking 1:38.54 to win the Indoor State Qualifier. At States, that dropped to 1:36.78, a respectable mark for a freshman.

Now - Boyle, who plays field hockey in the fall, trained and raced sporadically with the South Tully Track Club over the Winter, joining them for one meet, where she ran 59.98 Indoors, her first time under inside. She hasn't seen 60-seconds since, clocking strong marks in the Spring Dual meet season that's culminated in a 58.10 school record. However, it was her first foray into the open 800m that has put her as the State Leader. Having run the event in the 4x800m, for which CNS is NY #3, Boyle opened her campaign at the distance with a 2:10.54, and breaking the School Record again, this time bettering the mark set by current teammate Kate Putman. With two years to go, there is plenty of time to lower that debut even more.
