5

Minisink Valley

153.8

Berlinski, Struk, Dewhurst, Mason, Munsch
Summary:  Warwick Valley's string of 19 straight Sectional titles was broken last year by Monroe-Woodbury, and this year it has been Washingtonville that has been hammering from the start of the season in the quest for its first Sectional win since 2000. The Wizards may be casting the right spells this year after a big win at OCIAA. Warwick Valley's speed rating is kind of a Frankenstein creation from Manhattan and two different OCIAA races, so it will be interesting to see what the Wildcats pull together for Sectionals. Behailu Bekele-Arcuri was the S9-A champ last year, while Thomas Garrison finished 8th.

2

Mount Academy

156.2

3

Goshen

156.0

Panetto, Perrillo-Sullivan, Johnson, Hackman, Perez-Garcia
Summary:  Cornwall regained the S9-B title in a close battle with Goshen, and this year the Dragons have both the Gladiators and also the newly up-scale Eagles of Mount Academy to deal with. Cornwall was ahead of both rivals at OCIAA and looks to have the strength and depth to win again, but circumstances can change when you remove the Class A teams of the OCIAA meet and throw the B teams into a tussle. Seth Bywater and Blaine Doyle were 3rd and 4th in last year's race while Nicolas Paneto was 8th, and Bywater won the is year's OCIAA. Travis Meier of Mount was lat year's S9-C champ for a team that went on to become state champions.

132.6

Coddington, S. Rush, D. Rush, Mickelson, Babcock
Summary:   James O'Neill appears to be pretty much back to full strength after a good showing with a 7th place at OCIAA, and the Raiders are the heavy favorites to replace the departed state champ Mount Academy team as S9-C champ. Tony Njoga was 3rd at last year's meet and will be leading the way for this year's race.
