State of the Action: Whereas the Shot Put has a clear leader, the Weight Throw is set to be unpredictable. State Leader Deborah Estabine (North Rockland) was third at her State Qualifier, and the throws are not an exact science where you can let off the gas to ensure three spots at States like the Track. Still, Estabine is over 50-feet this year, and it proves she can do it again. The person who won that qualifier was Prizila Negrete (Ursuline), and her near 48-ft best is no slouch. She's only topped by Brianna Wickman (Newark), and the trio will be sure to present a thrilling final. | |||||
