Girls Class A - Teams
What The Numbers Say: Saratoga is good.
Better than when they scored 81 points lower than the rest of the country to win the NXN title in 2019. Better than last year, when they clearly ran past the country despite wavestarted, masked running. They rival some of their own best teams. At Sectionals, they threw down a team average that rivaled that of their 2004 team. Coincidentally, that '04 team would move on to Chenango Valley for the State Meet, where they scored 18 points on a loaded field. We don't think the score will go that low, but the Blue Streaks are the clear favorite heading into this meet, or any other meet in the country for that matter.
What Can Change: Two National Titles in between (face it, they would have won with ease last year) can't change the fact that Fayetteville-Manlius are the reigning State Champions, upsetting the Blue Streaks in Plattsburgh. Manlius is a much better team in 2021 than they were in 2019, but then again, so is Saratoga. There aren't too many teams between the pair at the top, moving it close to dual meet status (the pair make up 11 of the top 20 projected finishers), meaning if either team has an off day, those projected numbers could grow exponentially.
