A Mid-Season Look At The 2020 New York State Rankings

Girls Individual Ranks

Breakdown: The Top Returner, Brooke Rauber recently put forth the fourth fastest Speed Rating in Section 3 History, winning her home invite at Tully HS. That makes her the top athlete in the State by more than a few seconds. Behind her is Karrie Baloga, whose run away from the fields at Club Meets in her local area. Despite a quarantine, Baloga has still been training recently, and intends to race in the Post-Season, which could see her Speed Rating best jump up. Kate Putman has taken the biggest jump over 2019, moving herself all the way up to 4th in the State. Strong marks on the track in early September has led to improvements on the trails in late November. Rounding out the Top 5 are two athletes from Saratoga, who have probably seen the best competition amongst racing, and most of that came from within their own team.

Missing Marks: Local paper, Lohud, reports Madyson Moroney (Pearl River) is recovering nicely from an injury over the summer, and could return, while Ava Jolley (North Salem) had found that her school wasn't fielding a team this Season. She is set to return individually later this Season.
