Breakdown: Some unusual names in the State Ranks, who would have been present even if the Season hadn't been interrupted. As projected, Saranac Lake leads the State, racing only wave-start dual meets in the North Country. Still, they bring back their entire Top 7 from a team that placed 5th at Regionals the year before, including Cross Nationals Finalist Peter Fogarty.
Fordham Prep and Xavier recently battled it out in the merge at NY/BQ Champs at VCP, but a transfer becomes eligible for Fordham during Post-Season Invitationals, which look to swing the rankings in their favor. Liverpool has the top team in the State through four runners, but will need to tighten up their fifth to move up the rankings. Besides Saranac and Xavier, Liverpool's 4th actually surpasses every other teams third. And Saratoga rounds out the Top 5, looking to take home the crown at Suburban's later this November.
Missing Marks: The top ranked team from the Pre-Season without full results is Monroe-Woodbury, who does not currently have an XC Season.
