Breakdown: The two fastest athletes at States will get a chance to settle the score head-to-head. Sam Lawler has been top billed all year, and lived up to the status with the fastest time of the day at States. However, Kal Lewis was only 2.0-seconds behind him, in the Class D competition. This race is wide open at this point, and is too close to call.
The Non-Public schools will have a much bigger impact here than over on the Girls' side. Jacob Ireland is a very capable runner who took the PSAL Championship at VCP, while Evan Hilbert ran for the win up at the Catholic competition in Buffalo. Given the elevated competition, we could see a big jump from either athlete, and have the vying for the win.
