Plattsburgh Pre-States Meet Preview Blowout!

Boys 1 - 10:45am

Individuals

Colton Kempney (Beaver River) - 182, Cory Demo (Beaver River) - 180, Kal Lewis (Shelter Island) - 177, Gabe Planty (Watkins Glen) - 175, Torrey Jacobson Evans (Corning) - 174, Matthew Hong (Corning) - 174, Josh Stone (Windsor) - 173, Ronan McDonald (Randolph) - 169, Jerad Hediger (Pioneer) - 169, Brody Jones (Pioneer) - 168, Daniel Asher (Scarsdale) - 168, Brian Veit (Port Jefferson) - 166, Walter Coleman (Scarsdale) - 165, Austin Burkard (Newfane) - 160

Breakdown: While the big schools get their individual matchups in Race 2, the Class D battle is overflowing here.  The top four returners from last years' States Race in Class D are here.  The Beaver River crew look better than ever, but Kal Lewis is the defending State Champ.  Ronan McDonald was 5th at Sunken Meadow, but has to deal with the addition of Gabe Planty, the #1 runner in Class C returning.  Josh Stone is the #2 Class C returning Runner, but has bumped up to Class B this year.  Beaver River and Corning should provide the best team battle of the day, with several Corning runners in the mix individually.

Boys 2 - 11:55am

Individuals

Sam Lawler (Pittsford-Mendon) - 186, Behailu Bekele-Arcuri (Warwick) - 182, Nick Logan (Queensbury) - 177, Ben Guerin (Ballston Spa) - 177, Nicholas Berg (ESM) - 170, James Catania (Saranac Lake) - 168, Ryan Bush (Saratoga) - 165, Peter Fogarty (Saranac Lake) - 164, James Smith (Pittsford-Mendon) - 164

Breakdown: The two top individual returners in the State not running for FM are set to face off, although there won't be a repeat come November.  Class A Behailu Bekele-Arcuri is coming off a #12 All-Time performance on his home course, while Sam Lawler is looking to debut for the full 5K.  It's the first real male matchup we've had this year.  Guerin and Logan make up the chase pack, and surely see enough of each other back home in Section 2.  Warwick and Mendon look to be competing for the team title, although Saratoga could play a factor.

Boys 3 - 1:05pm

Individuals

Daniel Caso (Arlington) - 176, Tyler Fauvelle (Adirondack) - 174, Dylan Perry (Malone) - 161

Breakdown: Caso had a big win at the Somers Big Red Invite in Week 1, but Fauvelle was busy battling against the favorites from Boys Race 2.  Head-to-head, the pair are pretty evenly match, so it will be a good battle.  Arlington is the team to watch, by nature of them being the only Class A school in the field.
