This Year's Outlook
Greenwich fell 3 points short of winning a third States title in a row last year in Class D.  The Witches might actually have a better shot at a state championship up in C this year, though they are top rated among all C and D  teams. All seven runners from last year's varsity are back, and Brynne Wright will be vying again for an individual States title after two straight 2nds in Class D. Four other runners from the Sectionals top 10 are back including Teagan and Brooke Wright, Emma Cronin, and Emily Skiff, and stalwarts Quinn Collins and Annabel Gregg add still more to Greenwich's depth.

This Year's Outlook
Clinton finished a close 3rd in S3-C last year and now is the favorite to replace departed champion CBA-Syracuse at Sectionals. Senior Eva Borton is the Class C favorite for the individual title and along with sophomore Taylor Harvey and freshman newcomer Madison Luke gives the Warriors the top-rated trio among Class C teams. The back of the lineup will need a boost to put Clinton in line to contend strongly at States, but the team's first Sectionals win in 28 years seems like a very good possibility.

This Year's Outlook
It has been 5 years since Bronxville won a States title and 22 years since they lost a Sectionals title. In what could be Coach Jim Mitchell's last year (he keeps promising the fans of rival teams that he will give them a ray of hope for a title soon), the Broncos return five seniors in their varsity, including States medalist Natalie Weiner and four other runners from the Sectionals top 10. A seventh States showdown with Greenwich may be looming.

This Year's Outlook
The Panthers fell back to 2nd in the heavy mud at States last year, but they should have everyone from last year's varsity back. Kimberly Goerss finished 4th at States, and along with fellow senior Nina Burkard and promising 8th grader Catalina Ersing at the top, Newfane should be in the running for a state championship this year.

This Year's Outlook
The Wolves returned to States last year in Class C and finished 6th after a 4th in Class D in 2016. Three members of last year's varsity are gone and HAC had a relative squeaker over Waterloo in the Sectionals mud bowl to earn the right to the States muck fest. But the Wolves will still be the favorites in S5-C with Roxana Reisch on the lead after a breakout sophomore season that included a 3rd at Sectionals.
