Running at Sunken Meadow State Park, Alex Hatz of Fayetteville-Manlius held off Alex Leuchanka of Shenendehowa for the individual title as both runners dip under 16:00 on the wet and sloppy day, but Shen is too tough for FM, beats them 30-47. FM girls win big as expected, beating Saratoga 22-48 as Courtney Chapman led her FM team with a win over a very deep field.
KINGS PARK – The thing about chasing something intangible is that the chase never ends. Every step is like a climb of a ladder with no end.
KINGS PARK – It was supposed to be decisive. It was supposed to be the kind of race that when the runners staggered across the finish line everyone at least would have an idea who won. Instead coaches scrambled to count places, asked anyone who looked like they were watching and then finally decided to accept the excoriating wait for the official word.
