Girls Class B - Teams
What The Numbers Say: Heading into the meet, Pearl River has an eight point buffer on the field. That strength comes from the crews compression. They are the only team projected to have a 5th runner under 30-points. For some perspective, their 5-Person Average at Bowdoin would have placed them 5th overall as an individual in the Class B race at Sectionals. Following up their win at Manhattan, Pearl River is looking to make up for the lost year in 2020, where they had strong projections, and could make it a reality in 2021.
What Can Change: It's hard to count East Aurora out, especially if the recent years are any indication. There is also enough uncertainty here to throw the numbers for a loop. First of all, several runners were directed off-course at the Sectional Meet. Those numbers have been adjusted below, but could they be hiding bigger improvements then they were let on. They've also had some injuries in the mid-season, meaning some runners hitting top form now, may have been hidden from the ranks for much of the Season. They could close this gap quickly, and keep the race interesting through the finish line.
