What The Numbers Say: A very close race to call, it seems like Caleb Bender is peaking at the right time. He ran the best race of his career at Sectionals, putting a gap on the field. He has been in the contention all year, but moves to the slight favorite status heading into the race.
What Can Change: This isn't a done deal. Gitch Hayes won his Sectional by nearly a minute, and probably didn't have to have his foot on the gas the entire time. Also, Hayes was an Individual Race Winner here at Pre-States, so he is very familiar with the course. It wouldn't be surprising to see him make a jump at States, and capture his first state title.
