Chris Hughes and Luke Carmosino battled early in last year's States C race.

Section by Section Class C Overview
SectionTop Teams Notes
1Dobbs Ferry, Pleasantville, Bronxville,  Irvington, BriarcliffS1-C could go many different ways as Dobbs Ferry has the depth, Bronxville has the state's top two runners, and Pleasantville owns four of the last five S1-C crowns.
2Schuylerville, Voorheesville, Albany AcademySchuylerville likely has the most strength here after Albany Academy graduated much of its varsity.
3Hannibal, Westhill, Vernon-Verona-Sherrill, Skaneateles, Marcellus, Jordan-ElbridgeHannibal has the most coming back, but it could get a challenge from newly arrived Westhill and reigning S3-C champ V-V-S.
4Watkins Glen, Oneonta, DrydenReigning S4-C champ Watkins Glen should win comfortably if it has a full squad.
5Marcus Whitman, Mynderse AcademyMarcus Whitman looks well set to repeat here with a pretty deep team.
6Newfane, Falconer, Fredonia, SouthwesternNewfane and Falconer may have a little more in the tank here, there are no big favorites in S6-C
7Saranac Lake, Peru, SaranacSaranac Lake should have a deeper team in S7-C, and there is a possibility Peru might still take the S7-B assignment for States even after being reclassified to C
8Oyster BayOyster Bay seems to be the only team that can pull together a team in S8-C.
9James O'Neill, Onteora, Sullivan WestWith the relegation of States champ Mount Academy to Class B, James O'Neill goes to the top of S9-C, and it is also the highest rated team in the state.
10Salmon River, OgedensburgThere's little information for Section 10 teams, but Salmon River was the winner here last year..
11Port Jefferson, Center MorichesPort Jeff will likely have enough with a very young team to repeat here.
