This Year's Outlook
The Spartans fell back a little ways at States last year, and this year the squad seems to be in need of a little filling out if Burnt Hills hopes to win its fifth straight Sectionals title. Rory Graham again medaled at States and is back for her senior season, and Emily Berg finished in the S2-B top 10, but the margin at Sectionals was only 6 in 2017, and Mohonasen has most of its varsity back while the Spartans graduated three from last year's team.

This Year's Outlook
Mohonasen filled out its team last year and nearly pulled off its first Sectionals win, losing to Burnt Hills by only 6 points. With the top 6 back and States finalists Kate and Anna Sherman returning along with Emma Sinisgalli, the Warriors may now have enough depth to claim the S3-B title.

This Year's Outlook
States finalists Alexandra Thomas and Tori Fears are back for their senior seasons for Tappan Zee's battle in a tough S1-B that the Dutchmen placed 3rd in last year. Maddy Roth and Danielle Perez are also back as seniors from the Sectionals top 30, so this is a go-for-broke year for a very veteran team.

Pittsford MendonVikings

Pittsford Mendon's Madelyn Rose McLaughlin was the leader for the Vikings for two weeks in a row in Wayne HS mud as she led her team to a Sectionals win and then a 5th at States.

This Year's Outlook
The good news is that six members of last year's States squad are back for the Vikings, but seven of the top 8 on the 2018 PM roster seem to be seniors. This has to be the year when everything comes together for a States top 3 push, as last year's frontrunner Madelyn Rose McLaughlin leads back six runners who placed in the S5-B top 15.

Mt. SinaiMustangs

Section: 11Class: BColors: Red and white

Mt. Sinai senior Noreen Guilfoyle (1160) and sophomore Sarah Connelly battled the mud together for 2nd and 3rd in the States B race to lead the Mustangs to 3rd place.

This Year's Outlook
Mt. Sinai won its first Sectionals title in eight years in 2017 and then went on to take 3rd at States behind the 2nd and 3rd place finishes of Noreen Guilfoyle and Sarah Connelly. But Guilfoyle is now graduated and the Mustangs have a very thin squad going into 2018. Fortunately the top two of States favorite Connelly and sophomore Kaitlyn Chandrika are a great duo to build around for the next two years. With the States Sunken Meadows site only a short distance away, the Mustangs could be ready to run wild if the herd size can be filled out with some more young legs.
