Boys Class A - Individuals
What The Numbers Say: The numbers don't do the race it's real justice. Shea Weilbaker is the top rated Class A runner in the State, but he's been suffering from a leg injury, and brought him a third place finish at his qualifier, next to Maazin Ahmed. Silas Derfel would be the next top runner, but he too was defeated at the Sectional Championship, by Quinn Nicholson.
What Can Change: All this change-up is proving to make for a very interesting race. Nobody comes into the race undefeated, and everyone is hovering around the same Speed Rating. Derfel has the best resume of the top contenders, with a McQuaid win, as well as Top Ten in the Manhattan Eastern's race. Don't count out Weilbaker, or the two Sectional champs from 2 & 4. And with Cal Puskar and Donovan Tucker right there, and more in the mix, this is anyone's race.
