Packer Collegiate’s Eddie Owens arrived to the start of his race in the 3,200 with enough time for the distance start to hatch a plan with Andrew Valenski of Massapequa. They agreed to alternative the lead for seven laps but on the sixth lap Valenski backed and the pace stalled. That’s when Thomas Diliberto surged .
