Breakdown: Absolutely the race of the day, this brings about the Top 2 teams in New York against the best of Ohio. Corning has already toppled the best teams from NJ after taking home the crown at Bowdoin, but now they will be looking to defend territory a little closer to home. Burnt Hills took a big up-tick when they won the Baldwinsville Invite, and could put pressure on the NY #1 squad. Davidson might have the best 1-2 punch in the field, but will have needed to get their back end further up the field since their debut at the OHSAA Early Invite.
Individually, things look just as competitive, with Corning and Davidson each with an individual at the front. Section 2 will bring the next rung of competition, as Franjieh and Brimhall are set equal, and will most likely battle for the Class A title at SPAC in early November. This race will also serve as the debut for Myles Hogan of Fordham, who has been out the early season traveling for College visits. In terms of track credentials, his 9:03 for 3200m is the class of the field. We'll see if that translates to a McQuaid win.
