What The Numbers Say: Much like their Section 2 counterparts in the Girls Class A race, Shenendehowa has the ability to put seven runners ahead of other teams' fifth.  That depth will do you wonders at a State Meet, where the field size is already limited.  Shen does well as the underdog, two years running besting the predictions to make it to the State Meet.  While they don't gain that moniker here, it's been 11 years since their last State Title, and the Plainsmen look hungry to get back to the top.

What Can Change: At this point, the race is dead even heading into the meet.  If things run true to form, Manlius will start off the scoring in the best possible position through three guys.  Can't beat six points.  The compression is where things start to get interesting.  Shen, in theory, will start to pack in the runners.  Manlius 4th and 5th have to do what they can to mitigate the damage.  Luckily, there is plenty of variability in that area of the race, so these things can swing either way very quickly.  It'll be interesting to see how this plays out, where mere seconds can separate almost double digit point swings.
