Track and Field is ultimately a team sport. Races and field events, which are won and lost in a particular meet, are tallied up towards a team's final score. The State Championship, however, only measures the success of an individual, rather than that of a team. We here at MileSplit NY thought it would be interesting to see how it would play out to have a team based state championship. To achieve this outcome, we began compiling stats from our state rankings, and grouping them together by team. We then managed to compare the teams to each other, essentially giving us an idea of where each team in the state ranks. Remember, these are in no way decisive. They are only meant to give readers an idea. Some sections choose to run the 45m dash, while others may run the 55m dash. That would mean only converted times would count for those that only ran the 45m dash. We decided to factor in only the events from the state meet lineup, and compare the teams. Again, remember that these rankings are not official, only compiled results from our database. Enjoy.
*Note: If you see a performance missing, please contact us. It may stem from club names at Nationals not being linked, and it may be due to a mixup with Easterns results.
