The Boys cross country team is extremely young. The 23 member squad consists of a senior, two juniors, twelve sophs and eight frosh. Temi Bajulaiye(12) the team captain leads this years team. Temi worked very hard this summer as he is looking to try to lead the team to the league championship this year. Zach Negrin and Carlos Blades are the juniors looking to help Temi. The sophs won the county...

About Our Team
Entering this 2011 Cross Country season the New Rochelle girls team continues to face a tough schedule along with the continuation of low numbers. The roster contains only 16 runners of which only 5 have varsity experience. In addition the excellent Frosh team we had last XC season has disolved on the road to indifference. Losing Caitlin Apollo and Catherine Morris from that team hurts our varsity depth along with the slow development of our usual frosh #1 Rachel Perry.
Not that the cupboards are bare. leading the team albeit battling overwork injuries is Maura McCabe (sr.). She along with jr. Lara Gaffney, who was injured most of last XC season and newcomer Selena Marshall, who is normally as psrinter, but is working at improving her 400 times by running XC to work on her stamina, and has done very well indeed. Rounding out the varsity are Wilda DeLaCruz(jr.) Francesca Aiello, Kristina Magana (both srs.) with Rachel Perry as our #7. I wouldn't count out Dylan Keating (soph.) who comes from the tennis team and has no XC experience. However, she has trained very well and is poised to be in our top 3.
The loss of Diamond Dorn, who would be our #2 really hurts our chances at competing for the league title vs. the strong XC programs like Ursuline and White Plains.
We do have an 8th grader, Sindy Rivas, who could eventually be our # 1. I am tempted to install her in some varsity races, but I want to give her the experience of competing against freshman.
