Find out which cross country girls from the state of Virginia were selected to this year\'s All-MileStat.com team. Runner of the Year, Coach of the Year, Newcomer of the Year, and Most Improved Runner of the Year awards were given out as well as the first, second, and third teams consisting of seven runners each.

Rainy conditions and stiff competition greeted the Virginia schools that made the hike to the Manhattan College Invitiational held at the historic Van Courtland Park in New York City. The Brentsville and Midlothian girls got a taste of how competitive the Northeast Region is as they competed in the Eastern State division. Both teams failed to finish in the top ten in the team scoring of the race division which included six of the top ten teams ranked in the NTN Northeast Region including US #1 Saratoga Springs of New York. Forest Park senior Stefanie Slekis had the best individual run today among the Virginia girls as she clocked a time of 15:17.3 to finish 13th overall in the Eastern State girls\' race.

Harbor Wins Manhattan Invitational Jason Byrne Oct 9, 2005

Despite wind and rain, Justin Harbor of Flagler Palm Coast wins his race in the Manhattan Invitational (the largest meet in the nation) with the fastest time of the day of 12:34.5 on the 2.5 mile course.

LaSalle College and North Penn went to New York to race in the biggest one-day invitational, the Manhattan Inv at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx. Both teams drew the toughest race, in the tougest weather, and responded well. They took 4th and 5th, respectively, behind US#1 Fayetteville-Manlius NY, NE#5 CBA NJ and NE#3 Morris Hills NJ. Leading North Penn with a 12th place finish was Cody Edling, going a very quick 13:14.1. LaSalle #1 Pat Jeffers was just behind in 15th in 13:17.1. The North Penn girls were 8th in the Varsity B race.

The Hatboro-Horsham girls will race in the big Eastern States race against six of the top ranked teams in the Northeast, including US#1 Saratoga Springs NY. In Boys races, which are split with top teams spread throughout, LaSalle and North Penn get the toughest draw, going agaiinst US#2 Fayetteville-Manlius NY, NE#3 Morris Hills NJ, and NE#5 Christian Brothers Academy NJ. CB South races in Varsity B against NE#7 Liverpool NY, Hatboro-Horsham goes against NE#6 Bishop Hendricken RI. And Archbishop Ryan gets NE#2 Saratoga Springs NY (yes, their guys team is up there with their girls team this year.)
