Quick Looks
2022 saw a front runner take the race from the gun, but Angelina Napoleon has since graduated. That makes the race much more wide open, as plenty of underclassmen are now back, one year better. Emily O'Leary leads the field heading into the Season, placing third the year before. But her gap on the field is not insurmountable, and there is plenty of motivation for the athletes behind.
That motivation comes in the form of team scoring. East Aurora are the reigning champions, and look to have a similar gap on the field in 2023. However, individually, Clara Shingler (Pleasantville) is the second top returner, and will be looking to improve for her team. She'll be finely tuned from a Season against third top returner Lux Burgin (Bronxville), as only one of their teams will make it out of the Sectional rounds. Plenty of drama to go around.
