| 2 | Voorheesville, Schuylerville | V-ville has a gap on the field here. |
| 3 | South Jefferson, Adirondack, Cazenovia | South Jeff is one of the top programs in the State, but Adirondack is close enough to pull the upset. |
| 4 | Lansing, Waverly | A toss up at this point. |
| 5 | Wayland-Cohocton, Dansville | Another toss up |
| 6 | East Aurora, Newfane, Eden, Southwestern | EA has long held their streak of Sectional titles, and are the favorites to do so again. |
| 7 | Saranac, Saranac Lake, Peru | Margins are slim in this small section, and it could very well flip on race day. |
| 8 | Cold Spring Harbor, Oyster Bay | Limited teams in the Section make every runner matter, and it's unclear at this point which way the team scoring goes. |
| 9 | James O'Neill, Mount Academy | O'Neill has the pieces to make a return to the State Meet, and possibly a podium finish. |
| 10 | Norwood-Norfolk, Canton | A toss up. |
| 11 | Port Jefferson, Babylon | PJ looks not only to top Suffolk, but all of LI for Class C |
