State of the Action: It was a hot pace right from the gun, as Zariel Macchia dared the field to go with her. In her short two seasons of high level XC, Macchia has garnered a reputation to peak and race well in Championship settings, so despite the 5th seed coming into the race, the win wasn't totally unexpected. Lillie Bogdan went with Macchia from the gun, and held within striking distance for much of the race, but the Sophomore battle upfront wouldn't yield until the finish. 6 of the Top 10 Girls will all be back next year on the same course, so get ready for a rematch.
