Burnt Hills Invite Snap Preview | Watch Live On Saturday

Boys Division 1 - 12:50pm

What to watch - Kicking off the Varsity Races for the boys, Adam Furman (Tri-Valley) will set the standard for the rest of the day. Six of the States Top 10 male athletes will be at this meet, looking to differentiate themselves after a near blanket finish at Manhattan. Kole Owens (Sauquoit Valley) is the next closest competitor, but Furman will be watching the clock.

Boys Division 2 - 1:45pm

What to watch - Bennett Melita (Fonda-Fultonville) comes in as the top seed here, but the races are close enough that things could get very interesting. A chase pack consisting of Carson Darling (James O'Neill), Sam Ash (Saranac Lake), and Anthony Zazzaro (Stillwater) are near dead-even, and one surge could push them over the finish line in first.

Boys Division 3 - 2:40pm

What to watch - Like on the Girls' side for this race, there is one athlete way out there. Collin Brown (McQuaid) is much like Furman, hoping to push the pace against the clock to come away with the fastest time of the day. He's the second fastest New Yorker from the McQuaid Invite, and was only two seconds off Saratoga's boy in the race after him. It will be a wire-to-wire push to break into the merge.

Boys Division 4 - 3:35pm

What to watch - After the dust settled at Manhattan, it would seem there are two pairs of teams atop the State Rankings. Corning and Saint Anthony's separated themselves. And then Monroe-Woodbury and Fairport are hot on their tails. The latter pair will get their chance to lay claim to NY #3 here (or higher, depending how they run), and there is nothing better than head-to-head battles. Saratoga is no slouch either, coming in at NY #5 in Class A, and could play spoiler to the rank-and-order.

Individually, this race will be just as competitive. Each of the three teams have their individual representatives at the top, with Jake Passalugo fighting for Fairport, Mason Talarico fighting for Saratoga, and Monroe-Woodbury coming in with Collin Gilstrap and Collin Catherwood. Outside of them, it was actually Ronan Luff (Trinity) who was the top finisher amongst them at Manhattan, and will come in as the top seed in this race.

With all runners within one speed rating point of each other, it's expected to be a wild finish, one that will surely be replicated at both States and Regionals.
