Why: For the first time in a few years, the 55m dash is heating up in New York, outside of NYC. The State Leader hails from Albany, and our NY #2 is entered here. Eddy Vu (William Floyd) has run 6.83 for the 60m dash, actually besting the current State Leader in the 55m. That converts down to a 6.38 in the 55m, just under Vu's best of 6.41 from earlier this Season. It also makes him the top seed here.
He'll have plenty of competition. Rahkeem Smith (Calvert MD) carries a best of 6.45, and won't be making the trip to give away the title easily. Deonsae Dorsey (Downingtown West, PA) is right there as well with a 6.50, looking to ride the momentum of the final to snatch the win. And finally, Dylan Braithwaite (Holy Trinity) currently makes up the NY #1 4x200m relay, and is looking to improve on the shorter distances as well.
