Back At Bowdoin Park For A Fast Feds - Full Recap

Boys Individual Race

Breakdown

In the early goings of the race, it would seem Feds was going to be a replay of the Class B Championships. Evan Waterton took the race out hard, but Gitch Hayes was right on his tail. Gavin Ehlers was on Gitch's shoulder as well, powering through the first mile and a half up the hill. It was on the top portion of the race where Hayes broke free, and he sprinted down the initial decline. He had separated from the pack, and the CHSAA top entrant, Myles Hogan, had overtaken the chase pack.  Hayes wouldn't surrender the lead again until the finish, crossing the line in 15:34.7, but the race ebbed and flowed between Hogan right on his back, and Hayes throwing in a surge. The race wasn't truly decided until the field snaked behind the finish line, and Hayes through in one last surge.

Hayes' mark now puts him at #5 All-Time at Bowdoin Park, on one of the nicest weather days the course has seen. Myles Hogan now holds the CHSAA Record at #7 All-Time, although the Catholic Record goes to overall Course Record Holder DJ Principe of RI.
