State of the Action: While they were never counted out, East Aurora had come in as the underdogs. Their top three athletes finished almost exactly where predicted, but both their 4th and 5th runners took nearly ten scoring position jumps in to secure their win. It was a jump they needed, as Honeoye Falls-Lima, who weren't even projected to win Sectionals, had another breakthrough race at all scoring positions, to threaten for the win. Two teams peaking at exactly the right time, but it would be East Aurora with the necessary tools to get the job done.
