Girls Class A Individuals
State of the Action: With the course as unpredictable as it was, surely Katelyn Tuohy's two main objectives were to stay safe, and to stay strong. Once she separated from the pack at 1000m, Tuohy could better gauge her route on snowy turns, and she quickly made the race her own. She ran to a 25-second win over 2nd place, the only girl under 16mins for the day. She now becomes the third girl to ever win the State's largest division three times, joining Nicole Blood and Erin Davis, although Blood didn't do it consecutively, and Davis added a fourth after missing out her Jr. year.
Behind her, Claire Walters ran well, equidistant to the competition in front, and behind her. Karrie Baloga took fourth overall, with a Speed Rating equivalent to her projections. The biggest jumps of the day came from Jenna Schulz, in her first time over 150, and Phoebe White, who was racing for team points.
