Breakdown: What a finish!  For most, that's what people will take away from this race, and with good merit.  But eventual race winner Joshua Peron executed a strategically paced run throughout.  The race went out quick, with a lead pack nearly five across.  That effort continued through 2-miles, where Torrey Jacobsen-Evans was leading the whittled-down field.  Back in 7th, Peron was letting that front pack do most of the work, battling for individual advancement one-by-one.  Sean O'Brien would make his move with 800m to go, solidifying his place in the lead.  In fact, 60m from the line, it looked as if the race had been wrapped up.  And yet, Peron had one last burst, and would make up that distance just in time.  A push not more than 10m from the line granted him the gold.

Breakdown: Despite the lean at the line, Sean O'Brien had little to be upset about.  His teammates took care of business behind him, running away from the field to get the Team Title, a first for the Guilderland squad, who hadn't attended the meet in quite some time.  The win comes after some local success, but being able to reproduce in an elevated field allows some confidence to build.  Their win comes over Shen, who may the biggest hurdles between Guilderland's first Sectional Cross Country Title in school history.
