Breakdown: It was all orange at the front of the field.  Granted, there were two teams contributing to that Syracuse-nod, but only one of the front four hailed from that area of the CNY.  Jenna Schulz, the defending race champion, had to deal with the very strong early pace of Beavercreek.  Savannah Roark accelerated from the start line, and didn't give in.  Schulz let a gap grow, then managed to close the distance, but it wouldn't be enough to yield the win.  The other two Beavercreek athletes faded off the early pace, but did well to maintain position, battling with Tori Mariano for much of the race.  Creek managed to put three girls in the Top 4, despite not running their typical #1 and #5.  Roark came across the line in the fastest time of the day, good for the 13th fastest time ever run on the course.

Teams

Breakdown: The diminished Ohio squad was not enough to hold off the pack running Shenendehowa squad.  The tale of the tape is played out in their compression, with Shen putting two girls in the Top Ten, and having less than 75-second compression.  The pair finished 1-2 in the merge, and the results might have been reversed if Creek was fully staffed, but the race is only run with the bodies who show up on the line.  Shen adds to their healthy collection of McQuaid Team Titles with a win here, as they build back up for the usual Section 2 Championship Season run of consecutive meets.
