Why: This could play out to be the best race of the day, record breaking at that. At the top of the order, you have Kouri Peace (Pennridge, PA), who brings in the fastest best of the day at 23.60. Peace has raced sparingly this Winter, so it's hard to gauge her fitness on paper. However, Thelma Davies (Girard College, PA) has been tearing up the track this winter, most recently breaking into the US Top 10 All-Time for 55m down at the VA Showcase. Her best 200m effort is 23.85, and she may be closer to that than Pearce is at this moment.
Joining the headliners are two girls coming down from their 55-second 400m bests. Alexis Crosby (Cheltenham, PA) has hit 54.62 over the quarter, but is looking at 24.90 in half that distance. Expect that personal best to drop. Same for Aliyah Taylor (Rancocas Valley, NJ), who comes in having run 55.21 in the longer distance, and 24.61 for the 200m. These four athletes combined should re-write the national ranks.
