State of the Action: Arguably the closest race of the day, Corning had some ground to make up with 200m to go. At that time, Fayetteville-Manlius had a five point lead on them, with the possibility of that growing. Corning managed to kick in strong, passing Manlius' runners at key positions, to swing the title the other way. Despite FM putting 6 in front of their fifth, and having a tighter compression, it was Corning's superior team average that helped nab the title, and the overall merge win. They now become the ninth ever back-to-back winner of Class A in State Meet history.
