Dual Girls' Course Records & Close Boys' Easterns Provide Thrilling Manhattan Invite - Full Recap

Boys Easterns - Teams

Recap: Much was said about Green Hope coming into the race, after a strong performance at Great American.  And yet, the Manhattan Invite is about as Northeastern a race as you can get, and no two teams have been as storied here as CBA Lincroft and Fayetteville-Manlius.  Christian Brothers have five of the possible nine Eastern State Titles, and Manlius has another, plus some strong races each before the Eastern States formula was implemented.  Both won this meet en route to a National Title in the past.

And as always, both teams came out of their pre-season posturing to go full strength at VCP.  Neither team had perfect races.  CBA's Luke Reid came close, but couldn't match his strong showing at Shore Coaches.  FM's Geoff Howles had a breakout race earlier at VVS, but ran as the team's second man here.  The race remained close as ever, only 11-points separating the two.  CBA would get the edge though, putting their 5th guy ahead of FM's fourth.  They score 136 points to win, the lowest total since 2014.
