State of the Action: The race to raise the bar lifts all. Neil Howard (Taconic Hills) is the reigning State Champion, but has been challenged this season by the fast rising sophomore Luke Beattie (Warwick Valley). Beattie is the State Leader, with a Sophomore State Record 16-6.25, and it's caused Howard to step up, and improve his personal best to 16-3. Now, they'll have to do it when the pressure is on at the State Meet, and we could see some fireworks. | |||||
