Standout Katelyn Tuohy is doing the distance double here at States, and the longer races are clearly her bread-and-butter. She's clocked 9:27.56 in minimal effort to establish a seed, but has a 9:01.81 from Indoors to her name. Kelsey Chmiel will be right on her shoulder to challenge, as is usual, but it would take a big race to put pressure on Tuohy. Chmiel is just coming off a ten-second personal best on her Road 5k, so it indicates some big fitness, and she'll also have some mentoring duties, as the next round of Saratoga Distance standouts will be in the race beside her, a la Ella Kurto. | |||||
